How to flash BIOS with EFI shell
IMPORTANT!
Only update your BIOS if system is unstable or bug solutions correspond with your needs. Flashing BIOS incorrectly has risk to damage your system
Preparation:
In order to flash BIOS with EFI shell, an update tool, the BIOS image to update with and an USB flash drive is required.
Tool: AFU – AfuEfi : H2_BIOS_updte_tool.zip
BIOS image: The version to be updated into
Step:
1.
Prepare an USB flash drive (FAT32 format) and extra the BIOS_update_tool file to the root directory of the USB flash driver. Put the BIOS image into this "EFI" folder, then plug in the USB drive to the system you wish to flash BIOS on.
2.
Boot from the USB flash driver, run: “afuefi.efi XXX.bin /p /b /n /k /L” to start the flash procedure.
It shall take a while for the “process completed” message to show up.
*Note that the names should depend on the tool and BIOS in use.
3.
After completion, reboot the system and check the BIOS version in BIOS SETUP page.
